We’ve all scrambled to put together a parent presentation at the last minute request of a school or partner organization. This workshop explores exactly why family and child communication about sexuality is crucial to your sex ed program, and supports you in designing focused, skills-based workshops to enhance parent’s ability to talk with kids about sexuality. As a participant, you’ll be learning core skills to support families’ ability to navigate conversations about sexuality, prioritizing which skills are a fit for your community, and designing your own workshop outline in real time to support work at your organization.
This workshop will go beyond the powerpoint presentations and discussion questions that we typically see in parent and caregiver workshops, and support organizations in emphasizing a set of essential skills for families and caregivers to be able to navigate conversations about sexuality. Participants will create a workshop outline during the session itself, using the session’s key ideas, to support the development of a family workshop at their organization.
Date: May 13th, 2026 at 1pm EST
Cost: $25 per participant
Location: Virtual, Zoom link provided upon registration
